After leaving St Swithun’s, Veronica attended Roehampton Teacher Training College and for many years was a teacher of nursery-aged children. She had a love of music; playing several instruments and in more recent years she sang in a church choir and played the piano for small concerts in old people’s homes.
She loved the sea and sailed for many years and continued to enjoy travelling after she was widowed. Cruise ships offered her the chance to see many far flung places and she would often attend the lectures on board.
She always attempted to attend the Old Girls’ Day reunions each September and the Christmas Carol services in Winchester Cathedral.
She leaves behind a daughter, two sons and six grandchildren.
