Having designed their toy the students had to create a poster advert and prepare a verbal pitch which they presented to 3 external judges during the afternoon.
The judges were Heather Evans, Ian Coulter and Sasha Korovkina.
Heather’s social enterprise in town, Bespoke Biking, along with the Handlebar Café, at the bottom of St Catherine's Hill, was familiar to many local Winchester students.
Ian works as a strategy consultant specialising in food and packaging and is developing a nutrition app which matches recipes and shopping to your household’s needs. In the past he has worked as a product designer and launched new drinks for Coca Cola.
Sasha was a former pupil of Mrs Candale’s and is a machine learning engineer in investor relations and a start-up founder. Look out for her app Eat.it.
Congratulations to all the U4 for their enthusiasm, determination and engagement with all of the activities. Special commendation goes to “Safe Stan” and “Slurp” who were runners up and to “Matchbox” who came first.
Pupils got to unleash creativity by designing logos, verbal posters and creating pitches for judges. Special Thanks to Sasha from @eatit.uk, Ian, and Heather from @bespokebiking / @handlebarcafe_ and a massive well done to the winning group Matchbox.
