Former student and President of our new 1884 Legacy Society, Roberta Brockman (CG 1968), brought over this teddy bear that her daughters were given while attending St Swithun’s Junior School in the late 1980’s. Roberta told us that the bears were given to all the children at the Junior School by the Royal Navy Captain of HMS Beaver. He had a daughter in the school at the time.
We would love to find out more about this story for the school's historical archive, and we are curious to know if there are any more bears hiding out there? If you are able to give us any more details on this, please get in touch with us via oga@stswithuns.com or by calling 01962 835782.
