Our thanks for Christmas fundraising donations

We wanted to thank those of you who have supported our recent Christmas fundraising events. Between our ‘hook the elf on the shelf’ game and the sales of Christmas trees and wreaths, we raised £503.92 at the Prep School Christmas Fair. Thank you to those who supported us at this event.

We had a festive afternoon at The Minster Gallery which followed the School Carol Service at the cathedral, with Christmas drinks and mince pies. The retiring collection for this service raised over £2,200 for the Bramston Bursary Foundation thanks to the generosity of some wonderful individuals. Thank you so much.

The Minster Gallery has also donated 10% commission to the Bramston Bursary Foundation on any paintings that were sold to St Swithun's parents during the festive period. Our sincere thanks to those who made a purchase.

We currently have six girls at the school who are dependent on transformational bursaries. This means that 110% of their fees are paid for, the additional 10% being for uniform, exam fees, trips and music lessons. At the moment, the Bramston Bursary Foundation is providing 50% of their fees and the school is match funding the remainder and the additional 10% but ultimately, in the longer-term, the foundation needs to achieve enough income to cover all of these costs.

The girls receiving these bursaries are not only receiving the high-quality education that St Swithun’s provides, but also a stable home and the superb pastoral care they receive as boarders. Supporting the Bramston Bursary Foundation provides truly life-changing opportunities for these girls. We help them to believe in themselves and stretch themselves to achieve their full potential despite an extremely challenging start in life. Please do help us if you can.
