We will touch upon (a) the basic elements required for a contract to be formed; (b) the principle of freedom of contract; and (c) capacity to enter into contracts on behalf of companies. The aim of the session is to give attendees a taste of the type of issues that commercial lawyers come across (as opposed to criminal lawyers whom students are more familiar with from films and books). This session may assist those that are thinking about law as a potential future profession is assessing whether the subject matter is something that they may potentially find interesting and intellectually challenging.
