ARTiculation is the Roche Court Educational Trust's national and international public speaking initiative, championing the appreciation and discussion of art. Designed to give young people a forum in which they are able to express articulate ideas on art. 

Established 11 years ago, ARTiculation, a national competition, now attracts around 4,000 young people a year to take part in 10 regions in England, four in Scotland and four in Ireland.  ARTiculation is partnered with the University of Cambridge and the finals take place at Clare College, Cambridge.

Universities recognise ARTiculation for its indepth research and presentation skills and students use ARTiculation to support their A-levels, personal statements, CV, EPQ, arts and Duke of Edinburgh awards.  It is also recognised in the national media where the competition was the subject of the BBC's Culture Show presented by Alistair Sooke.

This preheat at St Swithun's features students from several schools and will be adjudicated by Maggie Guillebaud.  Former Associate Chaplain of Sarum College, Curate and Associate Priest at Salisbury Cathedral, Maggie Guillebaud chaired the Southwest Arts Council from 1991 to 1997 and subsequently served as a member of the Arts Council of England.
