Inspired by the real-life case of convicted and executed murderer Ruth Snyder, Machinal is a play by American playwright and journalist Sophie Treadwell. Its Broadway premiere, directed by Arthur Hopkins, is considered one of the highpoints of Expressionist theatre on the American stage.
Our fast-paced production will be using physical theatre techniques with a multi-rolling cast to explore the theme of the dependent status of women in 1920’s America.
Members of the school community, parents and school guests are invited to this event.
