The Professional Guidance Department is delighted to welcome Kate Whitestone (D 1998), who will be presenting a virtual talk which is open to our state school and community partners, as well as the whole St Swithun's community.
Senior Physiotherapist
Kate Whitestone (Biography):
Kate attended St Swithun's School from 1991 to 1998 and then went on to King's College London to study Physiotherapy. After graduating she worked at King's College Hospital in south London, moving to Southwark Primary Care Trust where she specialised in community paediatric physiotherapy. Kate continued with this specialism for several years when she moved with her family to South Wales in 2008.
After a few years away from the NHS to manage her growing family, she set up a social enterprise with a friend which runs singing and social groups for older people in the community. This work developed her experience and interest in working with people living with dementia.
Kate returned to the NHS in 2020 to take up a post in Newport as a senior physiotherapist specialising in the rehabilitation of older people in a hospital setting.
