Anne Shingleton (H, 1972) invites fellow Old Girls to the exhibition of La Signorina - the teacher Nera Simi and her pupils at Cardoso in the beautiful Apuan Alps, Tuscany.
There will be paintings by Nera Simi which have never been seen before in public, and works by her pupils. In addition there will be an unveiling of a marble bust, a present from the ex- students to the town of Stazzema (where Nera Simi was born), sculpted specially by Fred Brownstein, also an ex- student.
The exhibition will be open on 15 July from 1600 hrs and the formal presentations will begin at 1730 hrs, Palazzo della Cultura, Via Vallinventri, Cardoso, just beyond Ponte Stazzamense, in the township of Stazzema (LU).
The exhibition will remain open every day until 20 August.
Up until the 31st of July there will be some of us ex-students painting at the Palazzo della Cultura, or nearby, during the opening hours.
