Event description
On Tuesday 16 May 2017 at 4.45am, in temperatures of minus 35˚C, Mollie Hughes successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest from the north side. This was the second time that Mollie had stood on top of the world, having already summited the south side of Everest in 2012. At the age of 26, Mollie was the youngest woman in the world, and the first woman in England, to successfully ascend both the north and south sides of the world’s highest mountain.
Mollie has a very exciting story to share including first-hand photographs and videos. You will feel that you are climbing Everest alongside her.
Members of the school community, Old Girls, parents of Old Girls, former members of staff and their guests are invited to this event. This talk is suitable for children aged from 11 years. There will be free refreshments for Old Girls and the alumni community on the upstairs balcony from 7 pm. The talk starts at 7:30pm in Harvey Hall, St Swithun’s School.
