Fundraiser for Zambia Schools

Former member of staff Penny Burley helps run a community café at Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney on the first Wednesday morning of each month from 9.30am to 12.00pm.

Originally set up by Sarah Hobhouse (a former parent), the café is affiliated with Holy Trinity church at Wonston and raises money for a different charity each month by receiving donations in return for a variety of homemade cakes served with a cafetière of coffee or a pot of tea. This provides a friendly café where people can socialise locally without the need for transport.

On May 4th the charity cause they will be supporting is the Zambia Schools Project established by OG Amelie Osborn-Smith (V 2021), with the aim of raising money to provide a school and minibus for two villages. To read more about Amelie's story you can click on this BBC news link.

All members of the St Swithun's community are invited to come along, socialise and support Amelie's fundraising.  The hall is located opposite the village hall car park, Wonston Road, Sutton Scotney, SO21 3GX.
